LINDO LAKE

.
Once upon a silent lake
A lovely Romance came to call
Father sun peeped through
The cool and shelt'ring trees
Smiled on soft-piled leaves
And love embraced them all.
.
Then peace, as it's inclined to do
Multiplied the love
To ten or twelve instead of two!
And though the silence slipped away
The Lake still tempts,
...............................the children play
And Lindo Lake shines brighter
In it's lively tempting way!

He stood upon the highest hill
Feet planted in dark soil
Peering eyes on distant skies
Searching there for God
He gave his heart in selfless love
Did all a man must do
Shared his love in selfless zeal
Was loved in many ways
But not that he could feel;
Loved, adored, admired, praised
He walked alone, through quiet days.

I believed

"Can-Can"!

I am now 87 - and bitchin'!
